I'm doing the online order for carside pickup now. I can be there, pick it up, and be back home in just under 20 minutes with pizza that's actually hot.
Maybe if they tried making pizzas that didn't taste like ass?
Making pizza dough is easy. Doing a little prep work before you can save yourself a trip and still have pizza in about 30 minutes.
And it wasn't made by disgruntled, snot faced teenagers!

From Domino's?
On purpose?
CCNP: It's ok. The Domino's CEO is working to import more wage slaves to exploit. It's cheaper than raising wages.

Came to note this very article.
Slavers gonna want slaves.

What do you have against immigration?
Nothing. I am in favor of high skill and high wage immigration.
Some people think America needs more poor people. 10 out of 10 corporations and CEO's agree.
What is it about exploiting imported slaves that you love so much?
I always order carryout for pizza. Most of them have a carryout special, Dominos is a large 3 topping pizza for $7.99. The same pizza will cost you about $22 with tip and delivery fees.
That's great if I'm out but if I want to stay home and be lazy, well, I'm losing an option.

I like that they are able to come here voluntarily, and they chose to do so because it's still a better option than whatever they had in their country of origin.

For 7.99? Yes. Decent enough and my kids like it, large gets them fed for 2-3 meals. Well worth it.

You make it sound like all of Latin America is a shiathole.
Doubtless double dinero divines debut drivers
Better pizza exists, that's why they are having a tough time.
Dominos frequently ranks on the "well I guess it's technically called pizza" list of pizza restaurants. I have to go through a long list before they are at the top, and that list also includes frozen pizza and starving to death.

I like you.
You're a rare breed around here.
Keep it up!

So your for slavery because it means some people get a chance at having slightly better conditions as a slave??? Your logic is ineffable.

I've tried every brand of frozen pizza out there, and while they're ok for the 5 bucks they cost, I'll take any chain pizza over frozen every time.
Gee, this couldn't have anything to do with drivers not being paid enough to cover the cost of gas these days, could it?
I've done delivery driver work...when I did it, you didn't even qualify for IRS reimbursement for using your own personal vehicle for professional work. Not sure if that's changed, but delivery drivers get paid shiat, just like waitstaff. They live off tips. Perhaps you'd get more drivers if you paid them decently, a**holes.
Ah, delivering pizzas, the original 'Uber' racket benefiting corporations.
Wear down your own car, use your own gas, risk your own insurance or pay alot more for proper "business-use" coverage, deal with traffic, pranksters, and get stiffed...all to get paid a few bucks an hour at the tipped wage rate.
If I want to make food delivery my career, that's my choice, but businesses have to pay me a fair wage and benefits, otherwise I'm honestly better off staying at home.

Where I lived, your pizza delivery guy was also your weed guy. That's how they made their cash. Perfect front for it too. The pizza was an afterthought.
It's because assholes don't tip the driver. Sure, let's drive 10 miles with a $50 order and get no tip. So the drivers all wised up and quit.
/friend is an ex-Dominos employee
We're pretty lucky to have a good pizza joint with a bar a couple of blocks away. Walk in, place to go order then have a beer while they make it. It works out pretty well

Even with the mom & pop stores that generally don't offer carryout specials, I still almost always order carryout. In most cases there's no convenience to delivery when it often takes considerably longer and you're paying more for a far less-than piping hot order by the time it arrives.

Depends on the state. In California, you make full minimum wage + tips + mileage. Assuming you are driving a small Toyota and not a F-250, net profit on all of that ain't bad at all, even after subtracting gas and other costs.

/anecdote disguised as data
i delivered pizza in Denver in the late 90s. i made ridiculous money to listen to tunes, smoke pot and deal with people for about 40 seconds, tops. They were nearly always glad to see me. i worked 25 hours a week and spent my summers in Europe.
/end thinly disguised anecdote
Half-assed headline is hurting my head
LOL, I delivered pizza for Domino's about 30 years ago. Yeah, I'm old.
As a female, my experience was probably different than male drivers. I got propositioned at least once (these things sometimes have nuance, no judgment of anybody who has faced sexual harassment of the same kind and had a problem with it), but I think that was mostly drunkenness, not an actual serious offer.
The tips were OK. I can't to this day tell you how much I made, on average. (shrug) I just took the money home, I didn't do all the math on it. I was not living high on the hog, though. The best tippers were drunks and those on weed (not surprising), the worst were women with kids. (shrug) If people tipped, fine. If not, I didn't sweat it too much. The best nights were weekends and the night before Thanksgiving and Easter. Also July 4th, oddly enough. Not everybody BBQs on that day, I guess.
The weeknights ... eh. If there was some big sportsball thing on (like playoffs or finals) then yeah, it was busy and everybody did great on tips. The rest of the time, not so much. There were a couple old (like, very old, in their 50s or 60s) guys. At the time I just thought it was kinda funny, but obviously, it's probably more sad. I doubt either of them would have been delivering pizza if he had a choice.
It's an OK job if you want to have days free and kinda be on your own (sorta), since you're in the car most of the time. But of course, you also have to clean up. The manager's in the office doing paperwork and shiat. You're outside doing dishes, cleaning the "line," sweeping, bathroom, etc. Eventually, you get sick of dealing with the public and putting a bunch of wear and tear on your car. And you always smell like pizza. Not as great as you'd think.
I don't mind. I'm too poor for delivery, so if the company wants to give me money or bonuses for doing the thing I'm already doing, then I'm not going to complain.

One thing I learned from my last roommates is that Domino's has wide, wide variation across regions. They couldn't understand why I'd bother to eat Domino's pizza, until they tried it here. They said it was night and day compared to what they'd get back in Alabama.
Also, delivery drivers should be supplied a vehicle. It's obscene that people have to use their own vehicles to make deliveries. Imagine going to your desk job and expecting to supply your own desktop machine and office chair.

A) Are all immigrants from "Latin America"?
B) I make it sound like they have a choice in the matter.

Geotpf: mileage
THIS! We were threatened with termination if we tried to get reimbursed for mileage. (Not going to say the name of the chain, but it wasn't Dominos)
It would have made the difference between a shiat wage and a liveable one.
If I'm getting in a car, I'm not going to be driving to domino's
